•Before discussing the use of DanceForms for dance choreography and
visualization, I want to present a very brief introduction to Life Forms, the
program on which DanceForms is based. Life Forms was developed in my Lab at
Simon Fraser University and is now marketed by Credo Interactive in
Vancouver, BC.
•The program was born in the mid-1970s out of a dancer’s project to
produce computer animation from a Labanotation dance score.
•During the 1980’s it was refocused for the commercial character
animation market and geared toward creating animations you might see on TV
commercials and in animated feature movies.
